Casting Barlow

I discovered King Orba through the world of Music here in Austin, Texas. Orba was interviewed on The Austin Music Network and they showed one of his videos. An excellent song and an equally excellent video that was shot as a ONE SHOT on a 16 mm film camera. The video was designed to look as if the whole day and night passed during the length of the song all in one camera shot. It starts near the edge of a lake behind a nice house, the sun comes up as Orba begins singing then he stands and walks toward the house, into the house where a big party is going on. The sun begins to go down and he walks past various people who ethereally interact with him as he sings and enjoys the party. The night goes on and he heads through the house and out another door and eventually ends up back down near the lake where the sun is once again rising over the lake. Very nice!
I told myself, " I would really like to work with this guy, if Steely Dan was a person, he would be King Orba", then a few days later I bumped into Mark (Orba) at the FedEX office and I recognized him from the video and we hit it off immediately and have been buddies ever since. I am really looking forward to working with him on this film because he has lots of great indie and hollywood film experience to bring to the film as well as a good ear. He will do a grat job as Barlow Grant! Now we need to find equally great co stars for him as well!
